July Meeting

Postby oafski » Sun Jul 01, 2018 9:59 pm

With the football on the telly on Tuesday 3rd July the roads will be virtually empty. A perfect opportunity to get out on your Bike and drop in at the Bucks Head to meet like minded people.

So the bar won't have a TV up and be packed with people, and they won't have closed the kitchen for the duration? ... like I suffered at Classic Bike Night on Thursday evening last week.

There is a TV in the Bar but the sound is normally off. Apart from the Hillman Imp club who meet in another section of the Bar and anyone who may be dining in the restaurent area the place is usually pretty empty. There is an outdoor seating area which is favourite in this weather.

What a great meeting, everyone turned up on a Motorbike and we doubled our usual attendance. We were also honoured by a vist from a guest from Essex Branch in the form of Steve on his nicely patinated Loop. I believe the afore mentioned Essex Group's foreign correspondent will be posting photographic evidence of the event on the Club's Facebook page.

So alongside my side panel coming adrift en route and then getting squished before I could pick it up, and then the exposed battery displaying a certain amount of swelling on the case; all was good.

And then I came adrift from Hardley on the station run this morning. My annus remains horibilus.

Very impressed on how my summer suit held up actually. For once the armour took all the rough and tumble out of the fall and slide. No bruises or scuffs to my actual person at all. Sadly I've squished a foot again, and jarred a vertebrae. All my own fault so good aversion therapy at least.

Round two of beating Hardley back into shape takes place tomorrow. I would say that she crashes very well - my Zed would have looked a complete wreck after that one. And I can now say that I have crash tested my Davida puddin' quite successfully too.
